Diddy and Innocent have started a weekly journal on the BBC website. Click on the link below and you will see the first entry that went up on Saturday. This is fantastic exposure for the Gorilla Protection blog. It includes a summary of the weekly activities of the Rangers - and at the bottom there is a profile of both men. National Geographic News has just published this story on the reasons behind the gorilla killings. The journalist visited Congo in July. It is a very thorough story and I strongly recommend reading it. Just click on the picture link below and it will take you to the story.

Augustin Kambale, who also blogs on wildlifedirect.org/gorillaprotection, was featured on the BBC News website recently. He is the head of the patrol post at Bukima in the Gorilla Sector of Virunga National Park. You may also have seen his videos on the blog.

A little late in appearing on this blog, but here is a video from the other week when we were down in the Mikeno Sector with Paul Raffaele from the Smithsonian Magazine.

You can see that the Blackbacks got a little too close when playing next to Paul and, flanked on both sides, a retreat only brought him closer to a female gorilla enjoying a snack.
